A story i would like to share

i heard it in a CHINA tv show talking about virtues, and just thought of sharing it...

There once was a father who had a very bad-tempered son. He wanted to let his son realise the errors of his ways, and so 1 day he made a pact with his son, that everytime his son loses his temper, he will hammer a nail into a wall outside their house, so that he can keep a record of the number of times he lost his cool. The son agreed, believing that he was not hot-headed.

Faithfully, the son hammered the nails, and soon in less than 1 month, the wall was covered in nails.

The son now knew that he was wrong, and now the father made a pact with him again...that for each day that he did'nt lose his temper, he could remove a nail from the wall. However if he loses his cool again, he will have to hammer a new nail in. The son agreed once more.

What took him a little time to accomplish, took a much longer time for it to be undone. By the time all the nails were removed, almost 2 years had passed. The father came to his son again, and this time, told him that he had finally got his temper under control.

But after he said that, he pointed to the wall, which is now pockmarked with holes and said, even though his son had amended his ways, and apologised to others of his wrongs, the hurt he caused are like the holes, and could never be removed.

And so the moral of the story is...NEVER DO ANYTHING WHILE YOU'RE ANGRY, or you may cause irreparable damage before you know it.
